Heart art, shanghai 上海
People often go to monasteries to learn about Buddhism, but Lee Woon Hoe, a Singaporean art collector, opened a gallery to share the philosophy. Here, I created the video portrait for use on WeChat, China’s social mobile platform. I led concept development and I storyboarded, conducted interviews, art directed, shot, wrote and designed the supers and edited the video.
Located in Shanghai’s contemporary art hub, M50 — which is saturated with loud and “haute” Mao art — LWH Gallery brings some peace to the teaming alleyways. Exhibitions explore Buddhist themes in a contemporary context across painting, illustration, sculpture and video exposés by artists from all over Asia.
